When you think about the many celebrities who’ve grown their personal brand at least in part off their love of cannabis, some big names come to mind: Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, and Bob Marley. These legends are as famous for their music, just as much as the cloud of smoke following them around on tour. But the obvious names in celebrity pot-culture aren’t the only ones jumping at the change to sell cannabis. Check out some of the most respected celebrity cannabis brands on the market.
1. Chong’s Choice:
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Tommy Chong from the stoner darlings Cheech and Chong’s comedy team, jumped right into producing his own cannabis products. If anyone knows a thing or two about weed, it’s got to be Chong. His Chong’s Choice line of products is currently available in dispensaries in Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Oregon, and Washington and has already established a reputation as one of the best celebrity cannabis brands. From fresh flower to concentrates to pre-rolled joints, Chong has a full line up of products perfectly suited to many different tastes.
2. Marley’s Natural:
Another no-brainer for celebrity endorsed cannabis brands is Marley’s Natural. A partnership between Bob Marley’s family and a Seattle-based private equity firm. They’ve already developed a line of more traditional products, like whole buds and vape pen cartridges, but they have an internationally available range of smoking accessories and body care products made from hemp. Their cannabis is only available in California and Washington but as one of the most recognizable celebrity cannabis brands you can expect them to expand.
3. Whoopi and Maya:
When Whoopi wanted to get into medical marijuana, she knew she needed to partner with a seven-time champion of the High Times Cannabis Cup. Maya Elisabeth has a world-renowned reputation for developing powerful cannabis products. Whoopi and Maya products are more medicinal in nature and aim to provide relief for women from menstrual related pain. In California and Colorado, they offer three products including Soak, Savor, and Rub.
4. Willie’s Reserve:
If there is one longtime cannabis advocate who has never backed down, it’s Willie Nelson. He was one of the first celebrities to own a cannabis company, making his private stash public. Choose from carefully curated strains, sold in beautifully branded eighths, grams, or straight up pre-rolls. Willie’s Reserve has independent, high-quality producers that grow his brands cannabis. Currently, customers in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Colorado can get their hands on Willie’s Reserve stash as it continues to fly off shelves as one of the premiere celebrity cannabis brands.
5. Khalifa Kush:
Instead of slapping his face on the side of a vape pen, or his name on a jar, Wiz Khalifa went one step further and specially bred a cannabis strain to suit his tastes. Khalifa Kush is now available throughout California by licensed retailers. It’s thought to be a hybrid produced from an OG Kush ancestor. It tastes lemony, with a hint of pine, and is excellent for a morning or daytime smoke session. Given more time, Wiz Khalifa may lend his name to even more strains, so long as they meet his high expectations. He’s also launched a hilarious nonsensical weed farm mobile game, available for Apple and Android phones.
6. Margaret Cho-G:
Margaret Cho, the politically-driven comedian, isn’t one to mince words. She has recently released a new strain of marijuana called Margaret Cho-G. It’s also thought to come from OG Kush heritage and is available throughout the Bay Area in California. If you are looking for a deep sense of relaxation, you’ll likely find it in the Cho-G. It’s a sweet, citrus and honey profile, just like the lady herself.
As more countries open up to medical marijuana in the coming months and years, soon more than just these six celebrities will have their names plastered on a cannabis brand. Some names are only in the initial stages, including Dan Bilzerian, the Trailer Park Boys, and even Roseanne Barr.
